For this post, just like the title states, I am going to talk about how I change the lighting to give a different ambience. Initial Lighting:

After making changes:

The ambience in both pictures are considerably different. While the first picture uses a warmer colour palette, the second picture uses a cooler colour palette. First Picture: The directional light is stronger and there is no fog. Shadows in here are harsher too. Overall, a positive ambience. Second Picture: The directional light is not as strong. Fog is added and shadows are not as harsh here. Overall, a colder ambience. By changing even just the colour of the directional light, changes significantly the ambience of the entire scene. I was going for a colder ambience so I added fogs and used dull colours for the fog. I tried to use duller colours for the directional light too. There is much more that I can improve and here are some of my opinions on how I can improve it; to push further the cold ambience. I can choose an even duller colour for the directional light, to set the scene and another directional light to make the scene clearer for the player to see. By darkening the lighting in the scene, the textures would be affected too and it is cheaper to achieve the colder ambience by darkening the lighting rather than changing the textures as a whole. I can also thicken up the fog. I can even try to change the sky box so that it would fit the scene more.
